Dee Counselling - Specialisms

Counselling specialisms

One day I was sitting with a friend who was telling me that he was feeling really worried about finding a gender affirming counsellor while he was going through his transition.

Around that time I was becoming increasingly aware of how important mental health is, and was so saddened that my friend was struggling to find someone to understand him.

The thought stuck with me, and one year later I was on my first counselling course at the University of Salford, a few years after that after completing my professional training and becoming a professional member of the BACP I was finally able to say that I was a counsellor that would be accepting and understanding of anyone, but especially members of the LGBTQIA+ community, my community.
